Helsinki Roller Derby granted full WFTDA member status

Helsinki Roller Derby is proud to announce that it is now a full member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association! WFTDA shared the info on their site on Friday Sept 7, 2012. Here is an excerpt of their announcement:

WFTDA is excited to announce that four leagues became full members as of Sept. 7, 2012, after graduating from the WFTDA Apprentice Program. This group of graduates includes the first full member league in Finland, as well as the first member league in the state of Wyoming.

The WFTDA congratulates the following new members:
Chattanooga Roller Girls of Chattanooga, Tennessee
Cheyenne Capidolls of Cheyenne, Wyoming
Helsinki Roller Derby of Helsinki, Finland
St. Chux Derby Chix of St. Charles, Missouri
The leagues graduating today are the latest to complete the apprentice program and can now enjoy the benefits of full WFTDA membership, which include a vote on WFTDA policies and rules, and eligibility for ranking and tournaments.

WFTDA now has 160 full member leagues and 87 apprentice leagues.”

Helsinki Roller Derby is now a member of the Eastern region of the WFTDA. Other European cities to have reached full WFTDA membership status are Berlin, London and Malmö.
