How do I participate?
Try-outs will be held on March 18, 2011 (18.3.2011). If you are interested in trying out for the team, you will need to fill out a registration form.UPDATE: Registration is now over, but if you are still interested in trying out, please contact the coaching staff at rollerderbyfinland[at]gmail[dot]com.
Please note: ALL skaters trying out MUST have passed their WFTDA minimum skills test and MUST provide signed and dated proof of this. For example, you can bring a copy of pages 1 and 2 of the national skills test with the date and signature of your tester, or a signed letter from your tester certifying that they tested you, and that you passed all parts of the test without problems. The proof should be brought to try-outs and submitted as soon as you get there.
How do I get onto the team?
During try-outs, you will be evaluated on your knowledge of the game, safe skating skills, teamwork and coachability. There will also be an interview portion of try-outs. When we say that we are looking for the best skaters in the country, “best skater” does NOT necessarily mean the skater with the best skating skills; it means the skaters who best fulfill all the criteria. So, don’t let any low self-confidence prevent you from coming; we really hope to see many of you there!
